A weekend in the life

Writer: Charlotte DaveyCharlotte Davey

I was going to do a blog about Shows today, it's sitting half started in my drafts folder but I'm too tired. Instead I thought I'd give you a run down of some of the things we've been up to this weekend to give you more of an idea what it can be like living with Asians.

First off, the wind and rain has meant they haven't been outside as much as they're used to, also windy weather always sends them a tad nuts!

Boops Weekend

Boop has a very specific bedtime and a very specific routine. Usually it's 10:30pm, and she insists that I go with her. If I don't go to bed she gets very upset and has been known to hit people to tell them it's time to go! This week she's decided that the wind is tiring and the video was her trying to convince me to go to bed at 9:30pm. Because apparently she's a toddler and can't go to bed by herself.

Being inside has made her very affectionate though and she's been happily snuggling up on my knee watching TV, cuddling up in bed with Ian (who is on night shift), watching everything blowing around outside the window, and playing nicely with Weeyin.

Vizzie's Weekend

Vizzie LOVES to play fetch and this weekend has been full of it.

Most Asians will play fetch, although a lot of them do it less as they get older. Vizzie will go for hours and hours. Her favourite 'trick' is to bring you a toy to throw, then bring back a different one - she thinks it's hilarious when you act surprised that the toy changed shape

She's also been keeping everyone in line. I'm not sure what Boop has done to lose her movement privileges but apparently she needs to be pinned down tonight!

Weeyin's Weekend

Weeyin has been in a bit of a weird mood this weekend - I think she's coming in to call (the equivalent of being 'in season'). She's been spending quite a bit of time by herself being a moody teenager, interspersed with moments of intense need to be with you and have cuddles. She even kicked Boop out of bed on Friday night so she could get some snuggles!

I also found out she's been climbing in to the bag of fresh litter to create her own personal litter tray, I think we need to get another one for her! I wondered why she kept turning up dusty...

She did get involved with the snuggles last night though.

Zori's Weekend

Zori has mainly been shouting out the window at the wind and looking for snuggles wherever he can get them. Whether that's by squeezing in next to me as I type or jumping on my back to get piggy-backs when I least expect it!

The wind seems to have had the opposite effect on him, he usually winds Boop or Vizzie up to the point of a fight at least once a day but he's been a really good boy all weekend!

Well... except for this!!! I make crocheted blankets and it's been his absolute mission to raid my yarn stash. Unfortunately for me, he succeeded in getting his paws on this one. Asians aren't destructive by any means, but what cat can resist a ball of yarn?!?

Bubs' Weekend

Bubs has had a nice quiet weekend, unaffected by anything going on around him - as usual! At 19, he doesn't get involved in the antics as much and prefers to keep warm and snooze. He's had plenty of snuggles though and even some rare under-cover snuggles so that counts as a good weekend for him!
