All about us

Writer: Charlotte DaveyCharlotte Davey

I'll start at the very beginning (a very good place to start).

In 2009, the most beautiful - and vocal - cat we'd ever seen wandered in to the garden. Concerned that he was a stray, we called the number on his collar. It turned out he'd been missing for 6 weeks and the owners collected him with many thanks and tears. Over the next year he kept returning and his owners' circumstances changed, and, in short, instead of surrendering him to a rescue they signed him over to us. Bubs (Karakoram Pacifik) became a major part of our lives, and when he started to slow down at 15, we decided to look in to the Asian breed a bit more and contact his breeder for a kitten.

This bit is a bit sad. We got a beautiful kitten who we called Blondie (Karakoram Denise-Denise) and the two of them were inseparable. Unfortunately, we assumed that because Bubs had been an outdoor cat, it would be fine to let her out too. After about a year she went out one day and never came back. We were all absolutely heartbroken, especially Bubs, and we had genuine concerns for his health the mourning was so intense.

We decided that we had to act quickly to stop Bubs from literally dying of a broken heart and that's when we met Heather McRae of Cagaran Cats . After meeting all of the lovely kittens she had available, we decided to bring Boop (IGrPr Cagaran Xochitl) and Vizzie (Cagaran Vizzie) home - I'll do blog posts on all my cats later so you can learn more about them.

There was also a lovely little boy kitten who I fell in love with but he was too young and we weren't sure about introducing a boy to Bubs. Fortunately we became good friends with Heather and 6 months later, the little boy still hadn't found a home. So we gave him one for Christmas and Zori (Cagaran Zorion), very quickly became an integral part of the family.

We got deeper in to the world of showing and breeding (again, I'll go in to this more on another post) and in July 2019, we invited a very special addition in to the home. Weeyin (Cagaran Ialach Millis - Abbanach, aka Duffy, aka Ack Ack) is our first entire female and will hopefully be our first breeding queen towards the end of next year.
